The Delaware plant, the main site for this division of Rohm and Haas, makes equipment for silicon wafer polishing.

Rodel was founded in 1969 by  Bill Budinger, who brought DuPont expertise in polymeric materials, and Bill Jensen. In 1973, Rodel partnered with Nalco to gain slurry expertise. In 1997, Rodel joined Rohm and Haas for growth. Rodel currently employs about 1000 people with 600 in Delaware.
